DIGITAL VISUALIZATION OF BURIAL MOUNDS IN VERDAL

We present a pedagogical experience that covers constructional and
ceremonial aspects of burial mounds during the Migration Period, in Verdal Norway. The
content is essentially presented as a linear narrative (film), but the sequence could be
experienced in VR, as all graphic elements are assembled in a game engine.
Expanding on this, we explore novel approaches to real-time CGi, to demonstrate VFX quality CG in real-time applications through the use of dense photogrammetric models and novel capabilities in real-time rendering.
We also experiment with in-game data-streaming technology, bringing GIS-data to game engines.
